We are open to motivated individuals at all levels. All positions are in-person only at IIT Madras, Chennai.

Prerequisites for all positions:

  • Strong Python programming
  • PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Computer vision and ML fundamentals
  • Linear algebra, probability, and signal processing fundamentals

PhD and MS by Research

I am looking for 2 strong, self-motivated, fully-funded PhD/MS students to join APX Lab.

Admission is through the official IITM Research Admissions portal.

You may be exempt from GATE if:

  • GPA > 8 from IITs or NITs
  • You hold an MS/MTech/ME degree from India or abroad

IITM BTP / Final Year Project

I welcome IITM undergraduate students for BTP or final year research projects. I prefer students who have completed courses in computer vision, deep learning, or related areas from any IITM department.

Please email me to schedule a meeting, if you would like to meet and discuss.

Students close to graduation may also consider the WSAI Post-Bacc Fellowship as a natural next step.

WSAI Post-Bacc Fellowship

The WSAI Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship is a prestigious full-time research fellowship for recent graduates who want to pursue serious research before committing to a PhD program.

I typically take 1–2 Post-Bacc fellows per year.

Ideal for:

  • Recent graduates with strong CV/ML background
  • Those who want to publish at top venues before PhD
  • IITM students completing BTP

Research Internship

  • Duration: 3–6 months, WSAI internship positions.
  • Mode: In-person only (IIT Madras, Chennai)
  • Who: Students currently enrolled in UG or PG programs

Project Associate

Full-time research position for fresh graduates. Work on active APX Lab projects with close mentorship.

Minimum commitment: 1 year

Postdoctoral Fellowship

I welcome applications from candidates with a PhD and strong publication record at top venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).

What we offer:
